World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade Classic’s first Arena season has officially begun, allowing players to test their might against other players in 2v2, 3v3, or 5v5 rated PvP.
With it, Arena season one brings three arenas for players to battle inThe Ring of Trials in Nagrand, the Ruins of Lordaeron in Tirisfal Glades, and the Circle of Blood in the Blades Edge Mountains. The Ring of Trials and Circle of Blood have both been updated in the retail version of WoW, giving players the chance to battle in their original layouts once again.
“Burning Crusade Arena Season 1 has begun calling forth the finest combatants in all of Outland to converge and compete in three arenas: Ring of Trials in Nagrand, the Circle of Blood in Blade’s Edge Mountains, and the Ruins of Lordaeron above Undercity,” Blizzard said. “Up for grabs are gear, mounts, title rewards, and most importantly — immortal glory.”
By competing in Arena, players can earn Arena points on a weekly basis based on their team’s performance, which can then be cashed in to acquire powerful weapons and armor. Teams will need to complete at least 10 games to qualify for points in a given week, with an individual player needing to have participated in at least 30% of matches played that week in order to earn points. The top .5% of players will also earn a Swift Nether Drake Mount, which will only be available during the game’s first Arena season.
It’s unclear how long the first season of PvP will last. But if we use the original release of The Burning Crusade as a relative example, season one lasted a little under five months during its original run in 2007.
